Manchester City are continuing to rival Tottenham for Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo with just three days of the transfer window to go – as they also explore a move for Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye.

Liverpool have maintained they must have two more forward players in place before they contemplate selling Gakpo, and even then it would take a substantial fee to convince them to sell.

Liverpool have yet to receive an official approach from either City or Spurs for Gakpo, who started Saturday's Premier League clash at home to Nottingham Forest.

Liverpool would need a big offer to be persuaded to sell Cody Gakpo this window

City are also pushing to sign Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea. Despite links with Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister as a back-up option, no contact has been made.

Ndiaye, meanwhile, has three years left on his contract and would cost around £80million. He has rejected offers of a new deal at Everton.

Tottenham remain interested in signing him as well, and like Everton are looking at a move for City’s Jack Grealish.
