Manchester United will make their return to the Champions League with a home tie against newcomers Sabah, while Arsenal and Liverpool face Napoli and Atletico Madrid on the first matchday.

The Premier League's five representatives all discovered their league phase opponents during Thursday's draw, but UEFA confirmed the full fixture schedule on Saturday.

Aston Villa will be the first English side in action when they travel to Club Brugge on September 8 in a 17.45 BST kick-off.

Man City follow in an evening kick-off with Enzo Maresca's side taking on Portuguese giants Porto away from home.

The following day sees Liverpool welcome Atletico Madrid to Anfield in an 8pm kick-off, while Arsenal are in Italy to take on Napoli at the same time.

Man United face a tough trip to face Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid in the second matchday on October 13, before an eye-catching trip to face debutants Como on October 21.

A blockbuster clash with Bayern Munich on January 20 at Old Trafford is among the standout fixtures for the Red Devils, who wrap up the league phase away against Villareal.

Last year’s runners-up Arsenal face Bayern Munich away on October 21 in one of their biggest matches.

The Gunners also meet Borussia Dortmund at home on November 24 and Real Madrid away on December 9.

Andoni Iraola's Liverpool side arguably begin their league phase with one of their toughest fixtures against Atletico Madrid.

A trip to the San Siro to face Inter Milan is another standout tie, which falls on the penultimate week of matches on January 19.

Highlights of Man City's campaign include welcoming two-time defending champions Paris Saint-Germain to the Etihad on October 14.

Enzo Maresca's side also travel to the Nou Camp to take on Barcelona on December 8, before wrapping up their campaign against Sporting Lisbon on January 27.

After matchday eight, the top eight teams will automatically progress to the last 16 while those placed between ninth and 24th will contest a play-off round.

Clubs 25th and below will be eliminated.
