Tottenham 'have entered the race for Real Madrid star Rodrygo', who faces an uncertain future under Xabi Alonso

The 24-year-old forward, who can play anywhere across the frontline, is of interest to Thomas Frank at Spurs, according to AS

They report that now Arsenal and Chelsea have cooled interest in the Brazilian, Tottenham are ready to 'take advantage of the situation' - albeit with Daniel Levy wanting to haggle the £78m asking price down.

Rodrygo has become accustomed to being the man rotated at Real, with priority given to Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe

It remains to be seen how heavily he would feature in the upcoming season and struggled for consistent time on the pitch at the recent Club World Cup, playing just 27 minutes.

Liverpool are another side alert to his situation, as previously reported by Mail Sport, and the Reds could move for him if Luis Diaz leaves.

Rodrygo could be on the move this summer and now Tottenham are reportedly interested

The Brazilian was hardly used by Xabi Alonso at the Club World Cup in the US

Thomas Frank is looking to bolster his attack and Rodrygo would be a statement signing

Bayern Munich are another side linked with Rodrygo but appear the most likely destination for Diaz, with the German side set to make a second offer for the Colombian.

Rodrygo is currently on holiday but has reportedly agreed to showdown talks with Alonso when he is back.

It would be a statement signing for Spurs, who qualified for the Champions League last season by winning the Europa League.

Ange Postecoglou ultimately paid the price for a dreadful Premier League campaign and it seems Daniel Levy is ready to back the new man in the dugout.

Spurs have already signed Mohammed Kudus for £55m from West Ham and Mathys Tel for £30m along with centre-back Kevin Danso and Luka Vuskovic.

Rodrygo joined Real from Brazilian side Santos for €45million (£37.9m) in 2019.

His favoured position is on the left but the skilful attacker is deployed predominantly on the right to accommodate Vinicius Jr.

It's likely that Rodrygo, who would arrive as a marquee signing wherever he ends up next, would want to have guarantees about where he would play.

There has been no official club to club contact with any interested parties and Real Madrid, though that looks likely to change in the weeks ahead.
