Proper view

I have to agree with this assessment from United's X account. Wow.

Mail Sport's Chris Wheeler is at the ground tonight.

I'm not jealous at all...

Let's just say my desk is not quite as glamorous.

Hojlund hammer blow

By Dan Davis

Mail Sport's Chris Wheeler reported earlier today that United have opened the door to selling Rasmus Hojlund for just £30million.

The decision comes two years after he joined the club in a deal worth up to £72m from Atalanta and casts major doubt over his future.

United want to sign a new striker this summer and they are involved in a tug-of-war with Newcastle over RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.

Hojlund has been linked with a return to Italy and as a possible replacement for Sesko at Leipzig, but would prefer to stay at United.

Mystery pick

By Dan Davis

In all honesty, I have no idea who starts as United's No 9 tonight.

It could be either Bryan Mbeumo or Matheus Cunha.

Both of them can play there, so let's see who gets the nod from Ruben Amorim. Rasmus Hojlund, incidentally, is on the bench.

There has been plenty of speculation around his future.

We'll have more on that shortly...

Mbeumo has 'done incredibly'

By Dan Davis

High praise, indeed! We've got this exclusive verdict on Bryan Mbeumo from former Manchester United defender Paul Parker.

Have a read below...

I've always been a big fan of Mbeumo from when I saw him playing in The Championship with Brentford, because I was doing a lot of QPR games.
Brentford have pulled some incredible players from nowhere, and he was just one of them. Straight away he came in, and he just carried on from where he left off.
It takes to stand out in the Championship and it takes a lot for a player to become one of the top players, and to do it consistently. He's done incredibly.
His level of consistency is really, really good and to play for a top club as an individual, that's what they always say – top players are consistent.
He was Brentford’s standout player in most games, he's a player that Manchester United fans will love and he’s a player that people will want to go and watch.

Parker was speaking to Mail Sport via the home of online slots.

Debut time

Bryan Mbeumo jetted out to the United States to join his new team-mates earlier this month, but he was lacking sharpness.

As a result, Ruben Amorim decided to ease the forward into training sessions, meaning this is likely to be his first game for United.

He has stuck religiously to an individual development programme and worked hard at United's headquarters in Chicago.

With United's tails high and the Premier League Summer Series trophy on the line, expect Mbeumo to be given his first minutes tonight.

Trophy on the line...

Evening, folks. Welcome, welcome!

There's another trophy up for grabs for Manchester United tonight. Yes, it's not the Premier League, but it does have Premier League in the name. That basically means it counts, right?

Nah, probably not.

Either way, a little bit of pre-season success would be music to Ruben Amorim's ears, and United will win this competition if they avoid defeat.

Bryan Mbeumo is set to finally make his debut for his new club and Matheus Cunha could return after sitting out against Bournemouth.

Let's get this show on the road...
