Former NFL star Sherman Williams left fans baffled after making a 'ridiculous' decision as he oversaw a blowout defeat in a high school football game.
After hanging up his cleats, ex-Cowboys running back Williams took on the role of head coach at Murphy High School in Alabama.
However, his endeavors as head coach have not gone to plan and the team have not won a game since 2023 - with their latest defeat the most brutal.
Murphy lost 100-0 in their recent game against rival Alabama school Williamson - however things could have been different if Williams had accepted a unique offer.
After the game, Williamson coach Antonio Coleman said: 'I wanted to run the clock. I asked the ref. He said OK. He asked me if I had a problem going to eight minutes.
'I said no. He went to ask (Murphy coach) Sherman (Williams), and he said he didn't want to run the clock.'

Taking to Facebook, one fan wrote: 'Howwwww the hell the coaches Don't have their team prepared better to play a team in their division?
'There's No way that team can be that poorly equipped to get blown out like that. What the hell have the coaches Been coaching!????'
Another said: 'That's just ridiculous, Murphy use to be the best team in the city but the last few years have been awful.
'I don't see how they can keep blaming the coaches for losing if the players don't give 100% also. I know they have the talent. Just saying'.
Another fan said: 'Murphy needs to forfeit the rest of this seasons games and replace the whole football coaching staff. If you can't even be competitive, why even play?'
The result meant that Williamson became the first Alabama school since 1970.
Murphy, meanwhile, has been outscored 308-12 during the current season.
