Odell Beckham Jr. may not be in the NFL this season but that has not stopped him from blasting the league for putting 'health and safety' of its players at risk by holding games on turf.

Beckham's fury appears to be in relation to New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers going down with what appears to be a season-ending injury on Sunday.

Nabers and Beckham had their greatest professional and college moments with the Giants and LSU respectively, with the elder Tigers alumnus entering the gridiron discussion hours after the sophomore star was carted off MetLife Stadium.

'Dear @NFL, I mean this with the upmost love and respect. We (The NFL) take all The precautions in the world with EVERYthing else when it comes to players 'health' and 'safety'. PLZ. PLZ. PLZ. GET RID OF THE TURF. Thank You in advance. LUV,' Beckham started.

'Respect and u kno I loveeeee the giants , but DeathLife has taken too many talented players away from the game. I kno it’s not ALL the turfs fault but at least maybe it to where we’ve gotten all research done to if TURF has to stay it’s at the HIGHEST of quality possible. At least can we start the discussion.'

Then in replies to other social-media comments did Beckham's specific message come across. Someone asked the former Pro Bowl selection if he was referring to the turf of the Giants home stadium in New Jersey.

Beckham specifically took issue with stadiums that use artificial turf including MetLife Stadium

'Specifically ….. and I LOVE NY. But it’s just not efficient enough and this next generation is just moving different,' Beckham stated.

Another person on X then asked Beckham about two NFL teams playing at MetLife Stadium.

'Lol yea tellll the jets to kick rockss that’s giants stadium,' Beckham concluded.

Beckham's time with the Giants lasted from his spectacular rookie season in 2014 until he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2018.

The league's stadium's are split at about half for those that use artificial turf as a playing surface, with the others playing on natural grass.

The exact style of artificial surface played on at MetLife Stadium is UBU Sports Speed Series S5-M Synthetic Turf.

Nabers' injury, should it be confirmed on Monday as a season-ender, would be the sixth-such ailment to have occurred in East Rutherford since the beginning of the 2022 season.

Those injuries include Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles four snaps into his New York Jets career.
