Slot closes in on a century

By Tum Balogun

The Liverpool manager, who claimed the league title in his first season at the club, has the chance to make history today. The Dutchman sits on 97 points from his first 43 matches at the helm.

With one more win, he will take his tally to 100 and, if it's achieved against the Eagles, he'll become the quickest boss to reach the mark in Reds history.

I mean, that's pretty crazy!

Crystal Palace team news: Sarr RETURNS

By Tum Balogun

A frequent tormentor of the Reds, Sarr returns from a spell on the sidelines to start this afternoon's clash. There's also another start for summer signing Pino.

I think I fancy Palace for this one.

Gaughan: 'Early blow for Man City'

Bit of a blow for City that Rodri isn’t fully fit but Nico Gonzalez takes his place and looked solid enough in midweek at Huddersfield. Not a major surprise that Savinho – set to pen a new six-year contract next week - is given the nod as Bernardo Silva earns a rest ahead of Monaco.
City are hopeful that Rodri will be ready to make that Champions League trip.

Liverpool team news: Isak STARS

By Tum Balogun

The most expensive player in British football history gets his first start this afternoon against the Eagles. Elsewhere, the comparatively bargain Florian Wirtz comes back into the starting XI in place for Gakpo.

Someone's 0 has got to go

By Tum Balogun

Well, not really. Crystal Palace welcome Liverpool to Selhurst Park this afternoon in a meeting of the only two remaining unbeaten sides in the division. Of course, a draw would keep their respective records intact, but no one really wants that.

The trip to south London is a tricky one for the league leaders, who have triumphed in each of their first five league matches. Palace are actually unbeaten in their last 17 matches.

If Glasner's men can avoid defeat today, they'll equal their longest unbeaten run in history. The Austrian has done a tremendous job since his appointment and has guided the Eagles to fifth in the standings after their first five.

Add in the fact that Palace and Liverpool seem to play each other every other week these days, and we've got a very intriguing clash to look forward to.

While the game at Selhurst will be the focus of our coverage, we'll also be bringing you updates from the other three matches taking place this afternoon. So make sure you stay tuned for all the action!
