BBC presenter Gabby Logan has revealed she needed a 'bit of a cry' after a heartbreaking family loss ahead of hosting coverage of England's triumph at the Women's Rugby World Cup.
England were crowned winners of the competition for the third time on Saturday, with the Red Roses beating Canada 33-13 in the final at Twickenham.
Logan presented the final for the BBC, with the Match of the Day host joined by Simon Middleton, Ruby Tui, Maggie Alphonsi and Lesley McKenzie.
Speaking to HELLO magazine, Logan revealed the loss of their family dog ahead of the final.
Logan admitted to needing a 'gin and tonic' and a 'bit of a cry' with her husband Kenny, the former Scotland rugby star, following the loss of their boxer dog Milo at the age of 14.
'When I found out the eldest dog had to be put down, I said to Kenny, "I can't do this on my own, we're not going to get the whole family together for its, so I need at least you and I",' she said.

'We're going to have to have a gin and tonic and a bit of a cry.'
Logan had paid tribute to Milo in a post on social media, reflecting on the joy he had provided to her and Kenny, as well as their children Reuben and Lois.
'Our hearts are broken. Our big guy has gone. Milo you were truly one in a million,' Logan wrote.
'You were the model of stoicism, you didn’t fuss or bother with unnecessary petting. You adored a sniff on your walk and you did love an itch, nothing better than a scratch in your bed just under your chin. Visitors knew you were in charge.
'Nobody was ever going to harm your children, who would grow up to be your favourite humans. Even when your number one hobby became sleeping the voices of Lois and Reuben as they came home and through the door could stir you from your slumber. Your little tail wagging with joy.
'8am and 5pm were etched on your body clock. You’d come and find us if we’d dared not to notice the time.
'You welcomed Maggie in as a puppy and cuddled her in your bed and then in the winter of your life when we thought you might be about to leave us, along came Maverick.
'And somehow you rallied and found two years more to guide him and enjoy his vitality and youth. I can’t tell you how much you have meant to us Milo.

'14 years of being the boss, we are forever grateful you chose us to love.’
Logan and her husband Kenny, 53, a former Scotland rugby player, live in Buckinghamshire and have two children, twins Reuben and Lois, 20.
Last month, she reflected to the Daily Mail on adapting to Lois returning to university and Reuben living in Manchester where he has followed in his dad’s footsteps by playing rugby, for Sale Sharks.
‘Reuben moving to Manchester has been the biggest change for us,’ she said last month. ‘When he was at Northampton he could come home after matches.
‘We’ve had Lois home all summer so, with her gone as well as Reuben, we’re going to really feel it this week.
‘But there’s also a lot of freedom that comes with this time in your life.’
Logan is one of three presenters of Match of the Day, following the departure of Gary Lineker.
The long-standing BBC presenter was joined by Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman in hosting the flagship football highlights show.
