Tottenham vs Everton: Spurs frustrated in game of few chances, as Roberto De Zerbi's side target first Premier League win - and goal - of the season against Toffees

Everton go close! George does well down the left and floats in a fantastic cross. Kinsky comes for it, gets nowhere near it, and Barry heads it against the Spurs keeper's face.

You can sense the frustrations growing in here.

Barry turns well and feeds George on the left. Johnson was open on the other side and George eventually looks for him, but van De Ven intercepts.

The throw comes in and Bentancur heads over his own goal. The corner will come in this time... it finds its way to George on the edge of the box, and Bentancur blocks.

I wonder what Roberto De Zerbi had to say at half-time. How much more can you say, from a motivational point of view?

That's funny. Loud, loud cheers from the Spurs fans as they have a shot on target. It's awful - Fernandes from distance right into Pickford - but it's a shot on target no less.

A nice ball over the top from Tarkowski for Johnson. Barry is in the box on his own, but van De Ven gets across nicely to cover.

Here we go then. Bring us a goal, football Gods.

Here's how the table is looking as things stand - down to Spurs in 17th.

Any goal would of course change things. But this lack of goals for Spurs is proving to be a bit of an issue already.

Tottenham go another half without scoring a goal, then. Over six hours of football since they last did that.

They have been the better side, but the Toffees have defended well and had the odd chance themselves.

No shot on target until that Garner free-kick, though, so we can hope for a better second-half.

Things can only get better... right?

As big roar as Andy Robertson wins it on the left. Marmoush then slips as he attempts a cross-field ball. Again, that sums absolutely everything up from this half.

Everton earn a free-kick in a decent position as Fernandes pulls back Dewsbury-Hall. Two minutes added on.

Garner and Dewsbury-Hall himself are over the ball. I think the former is going to shoot...

He does - and Kinsky has to palm wide. That's our first shot on target.

Corner comes in. Kinsky punches. That's the whistle.

It feels as though Everton are defending quite deep, but Spurs just cannot break them down. No shots on target for either side yet...

It's been a half to forget so far. But let's hope things can improve.

Savio wins a knock down and feeds Solanke on the left. He slides it into Robertson down the left, but his cross is booted away by Pickford.

The former Liverpool man is then flagged offside after getting on the end of a lobbed ball into the box by van Hecke.

Tonali takes a pot shot from distance and Branthwaite heads it out for a corner.

In it comes. All the way out - and that sums up this half.

Johnson gives the ball away in a tough position but Spurs are just lacking that killer pass at the minute. Everton's shape a bit better.

Savio then beats Mykolenko down the left but another Everton body is there to out it out. George races up the other end, but his cross is out for a goal kick.

Neither team is wasting any time getting up the other end of the pitch when they can. There's just no end product yet.

Good from van Hecke into Savio but he's swarmed again and Spurs lose possession.

Garner has to intercept Tonali's pass this time as Gray flies forward again. He's having a lot of joy from right back.

In comes the latest corner. Pickford punches, and Fernandes slices high and wide.
