Pittsburgh Steelers rookie Max Iheanachor has been left counting the cost after burglars broke into his home and stole more than $150,000 worth of items.
The 21st overall pick in this year's NFL draft was targeted in broad daylight on August 26 at his property in Pittsburgh's Mount Washington neighborhood.
Intruders smashed their way inside by throwing a rock through one of the windows between 10.30am and 1.30pm, according to WTAE.
Thieves then ransacked the residence, making off with between $150,000 and $250,000 worth of jewelry and designer handbags, according to The Athletic.
Police are currently investigating the break-in, though no arrests have been made.
The distressing incident marks an unwelcome distraction for the 22-year-old as he prepares to make his official NFL debut against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
